Start with the border. After what can only be described as one of the greatest derelictions of duty in US history under Biden — tens of millions allowed in, including millions of criminals — Trump moved immediately to restore order. Deportations resumed, criminal illegals were prioritised, and the rule of law was re-established. This was not cruelty; it was the minimum requirement of sovereignty.
Trump also made it clear that lawlessness would not be indulged, even when dressed up as compassion. Judges who obstructed federal law enforcement were held accountable. Due process was respected — but anarchy was not. The message was unmistakable: no one is above the law.
On foreign policy, Trump returned to pressure rather than appeasement. Venezuela’s Maduro regime was targeted again, cutting off oil revenues that had been funneled to hostile actors including Iran and Cuba. Unlike the moral posturing of previous administrations, Trump understood leverage — and used it.
Meanwhile, the media’s fixation on recycled scandals collapsed under its own weight. Years of insinuations produced nothing, just as O’Reilly noted they would. What remained was policy — and on that front, Trump delivered.
The economy remains under strain, but not from drift or denial. Trump confronted hard realities: debt, trade imbalances, hostile regimes undermining the dollar. Adults were back in charge, making hard calls instead of soothing speeches.
Twelve months in, Trump’s second term has been defined by clarity: laws are enforced, allies understand where America stands, adversaries understand the cost of defiance, and chaos is no longer excused as compassion.
Love him or loathe him, Donald Trump governs — he does not hide.
