The quote is especially poignant as it has become the battle cry of the Western World's naysayers. It poses the very real question: What indeed remains of the word that represents the essence of all free societies when its very meaning is debased by outlandish accusations of its demise?

The use of language as a weapon of political war is not new; indeed, it is as old as history. Yet we claim we have evolved over the millennia. It appears not and we can clearly see that by their words, the barbarians of our time betray themselves. Too many put expediency, political aims, and manipulation, ahead of accuracy.
